I’m back at school after the long weekend of travel and everything is going great. All the students are rejuvenated and ready to get right back into things. This is a caballo (or horse) I came across in Brazil. During our trip we visited Chuy, a city that rides the border between Brazil and Uruguay where there is no border patrol. There is a long street going down the middle where one side is Uruguay and the other Brazil. My favorite part is that each country is on it’s own time zone so depending on what side of the street you are on, you gain or lose an hour!

Just got back from Uruguay a few hours ago. Look what we found in Punta del Este. Monumento al Ahogado (or Monumento to the Drowned) is a statue by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal from the early 80s. It’s one of the most well known landmarks in Uruguay and as it turns out a fine place to take a break from driving all day.
